Llano Grape Day

Llano Estacado Winery celebrates 33 years of Texas Winemaking during Grape Day, Saturday October 17, from 10 a.m. to 5p.m., weather permitting.  Grape Day is a celebration of the grape harvest and the conclusion of the crush, which continues from late July to early October.  The 16th annual celebration will include wine tasting, self-guided tours, informational seminars, art booths, food and live music from local favorites Kenny Maines and Leslie Sawyer. Grape Day is the largest festival held at the winery each year and guests will be able to purchase more than 20 Llano wines by the glass. Admission is $5.00 and includes a commemorative wineglass and two drink tickets good for one glass of wine.

Since 1976, Llano Estacado has expanded its production and reputation to become the largest producer of premium wines in Texas. The winery produces 150,000 cases annually and grows most of its grapes on the Texas High Plains within a 300-radius of Lubbock, Texas.

Nationally and internationally renowned, Llano Estacado Winery continues to win awards around the world, and has received more than 1,000 awards for its wines to date. Most recently the winery was honored with a Gold medal at the San Diego International Wine Competition for their 2007 Riesling, Late Harvest.
